Rukshan qualified from Guy’s, King’s and St. Thomas’ Medical school in London, UK and obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical and Experimental Medicine from University College London. He undertook Clinical Radiology training in London, UK and completed the extended Clinical Radiology/ Interventional Radiology speciality curriculum. He also holds the European Board of Interventional Radiology certification (EBIR).

Rukshan completed year-long fellowships in Interventional Radiology at Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Hospital (UK), McGill University Hospitals (Canada) and Auckland City Hospital. These fellowships encompassed all aspects of interventional radiology, including Paediatric IR, Interventional Oncology and Vascular Intervention (Peripheral vascular disease and Aortic Intervention).

He is a Consultant Interventional Radiologist at Auckland City Hospital. 

Rukshan is passionate about practising IR and applying its innovative techniques to benefit patients.

He lives in Auckland with his young family and enjoys hiking, mountain biking, skiing and is always looking for the next adventure!
